Just how hot is Las Vegas? Well, if you’ve watched the effects of global warming on the planet, you might want to skip the part where you get reduced to a steaming pile of ash.

Arguably, the real hot spots of the American Southwest are not Las Vegas, New Mexico, or even Reno, but rather desert cities in the Great Plains like conservative Colorado Springs or heat-friendly Amarillo in Texas. Other interesting hot spots in the American Southwest include the Colorado River in the West and large portions of the Colorado Plateau in the East.

And, as if all that were not enough, the US Southwest contains more golf courses than any other region in the world, many of which are on legendary courses like the PGA-Grand Sierra Resort in Phoenix or the Ocala National Forest in Florida.

The US Southwest as a whole is a diverse and beautiful area that millions of people vacation in every year. And, there is plenty to do in the area, even before you get to the really hot destinations. Just looking at all the fun things there is to do in the US Southwest will make you forget all your vacation fears, and in a sense, prepare you for the real trip-right there in the comfort of your own home!

The PGA-Dude, a gigantic golf course in Frisco, Texas used to be a rural, up-and-coming resort. It still is – in a strange way. The 18-hole, par 72 course has something for everybody from top-notch design and superb elevation changes to challenging easterly and uphill greens to wide fairways and sand traps. Green fees are a little bit higher than in other parts of the country, with the women wearing designer dresses and carrying a clear purse, but that’s just a tradeoff for having access to some of the best greens in America.

Kanapaha Marine Park (on the island of Oahu) is a beautiful nature preserve, but you don’t need to go to work to see the yacht clubs, jet skis and other high adrenaline activities. It’s a great place to relax with the family, and there are plenty of rental shops, restaurants, and bars.

Glenwood Springs (in Phoenix) boasts the coolest springs in the US, and there are 70 different styles of mineral baths in the area. Many visitors don’t end up staying; they want to spend the entire day at one of the hot pools, including Jade pools, for their whole family.

Cantwell Ranch in Granbury, Texas is famous for the fact that horse trailers are more than welcome here. The ranch offers riding demonstrations and cattle drives, as well as a hotel.

Some of the ranches offer golf, too. visitation to these ranches are especially fond of the 9 hole courses in the area, including ray run and ranch.

It must be acknowledged, then, that any insight given into the myriad of US states is subject to the disclaimer, since the situation in each state is different. Its not possible to make generalizations based on the same general facts, all of which lead to further exploration and a better experience with each travel experience.
